nervous about buying a car for a little bit of money. this is a $5.6 billion contract. 36-year lifespan. what this does is moves the purple line forward. a 21 stop line is light rail system that will connect new carrollton through college park, silver spring, and over to bethesda. it will run on electricity. it will be right at ground level. the idea is it is going to link four different hubs of the metro system. people will be able to walk to it, take the bus to it. complete this system. governor hogan has been a big supporter of it. he claims he

has saved money by putting together a public-private partnership. a world-class team has developed a strong design and innovative ideas that provide the state with a competitive price and maximum value. brad: the governor says his negotiations have saved the state about $550 million. a lot of numbers running around. $5.6 billion is over the next 36 years. it is just about $2 billion to build the system. instruction is expected to begin this year. the system should start 2022.ing in a big day for the purple line. very exciting. thank you. happening now, a search for a girl who has been missing for more than two years. relisha rudd was living in a homeless shelter when she disappeared in march 2014.

months. jeannette reyes is in woodbridge with the latest. police telling me they are growing concerned now that they are looking into the ninth shooting incident into a home. behind me, this is the latest home to be hit. three bullet holes, one of them on the garage door. another on the siding of the home. another very close to the window on the window pane. this incident is different because it is under half a mile away from the prince william county police department. police responded to a call on stockholm way yesterday morning. heard april 3was around 11:00. it was not until the next day the owner notice the blowholes.

i want to focus on maryland. that is where we are seeing the heaviest traffic. on the outer loop, by colesville road, very heavy. the inner loop is slow. at that.ake a look it shows you passing connecticut avenue the volume. the reason for the slowing is the midday roadwork. as we move to the map, it is near georgia avenue. if you live or travel near silver spring, it will give you an idea of where the roadwork is. the solid red line on the inner loop, 60 miles per hour. on the outer loop, averaging 17 miles per hour. 23 minutes on the baltimore-washington parkway getting close to route 32. a kraus reported near route 197. 95 heading past the icc, about 18 miles per hour. are clear.ou nothing to worry about. melanie: thank you.
